What is oriented strand board (OSB)?

1.Definition:
Oriented Strand Board (OSB): A panel made by applying adhesive to narrow, long, and thin wood particles arranged in a uniform direction within a single layer, followed by hot pressing.
2.Unique directional structure:
The paving is directional, with two layers of slabs arranged longitudinally and the core layer slabs arranged transversely.
3.Usage scenario:
OSB is a high-performance structural panel suitable for use as wall panels and floor slabs in timber structures; as a base layer or wall finish in interior decoration; as load-bearing components for furniture such as cabinet side panels and load-bearing shelves; in the automotive and marine manufacturing industries for train car side panels, flooring, and ship partitions; and for packaging products.

4.Physical property:
High strength and impact resistance;
Resistant to bending and with a low expansion coefficient;
Exhibits excellent dimensional stability and strong nail grip force.
5.Classify:
OSB1 type (dry non-load-bearing oriented strand board): Used for packaging, interior decoration materials, and furniture manufacturing in dry conditions.
OSB2 type (dry-state load-bearing oriented strand board): Used for indoor decoration materials (ceiling, partition walls, wall leveling) and furniture manufacturing under dry conditions; also serves as material for wooden doors and sofa frames.
OSB3 type(moisture-resistant load-bearing oriented strand board): Used for furniture manufacturing under humid conditions; waterproof furniture (e.g., cabinets, bathroom cabinets, and outdoor furniture).Manufacturing of wooden structures in rainy regions; packaging for electromechanical products, vehicle floor panels, etc.
OSB4 type(Heavy-duty oriented strand board for humid environments): Used for interior and exterior wall panels, floor panels, and roof panels in timber structures exposed to prolonged moisture conditions; also applicable for shipbuilding applications.
